Weekly Runs

For all calendar events, please watch for updates through the weekly club announcements sent over email. Also check the group Facebook page for updates. Everyone is welcome to show up at our trainings - they're free!


Inner Loop: Meet at 6:25 pm at the Heights High School's track, located at 413 E. 13th Street (though many people enter via the 14th Street gate) for a prompt 6:30 pm start.  All paces and abilities welcome and bring a mat or towel for the post-session ab/core workout.  Rain or shine, with watermelon feast afterward.  Questions to Bob Schamus .

Westside:  Meet at 5:45 pm in the parking lot of Memorial Middle School @ 12550 Vindon Drive, Houston 77024 for a Jack Daniels track session.  Questions to Miriam Kitchen.

Memorial Park: Meet at 6:30 pm at the Running Trails Center for a slower, gentler track session targeting the 10:00-12:00 min/mile pace group.  Questions to Claire Guppy .   


West Side: Tempo/Hills workout beginning at 5:15 pm from the parking lot located on Highway 6 between Memorial and Briar Hills, adjacent to the Z Auto Dealership.  Click here for map.  Questions to Miriam Kitchen.

Inner Loop:   Hills workout beginning at 6:30 pm in front of the United Way at 3800 Feagan Drive, with abs/core session afterward.  Questions to Ben Skidmore.

Memorial Park/Inner Loop:  Hills/tempo workout targeting the 10:00-12:00 min/mile pace group.  Meet at different locations depending on type of workout at 6:30 pm.  For details or questions contact Claire Guppy.



Early Long Run:  Meet at 5:30 am at the Memorial Park Softball Fields Lot #1 (the Jim McConn lot) to run sub-8 minute miles.

Later Long Run:  8-12 minutes per mile - Meet at 6:30 a.m. with John Kohoutek as the coordinator. Route details and STARTING LOCATION will be posted on Facebook midweek. Note: Check the Houston Striders public Facebook page for last minute announcements or cancelations and you can always contact John Kohoutek.
