For all calendar events, please watch for updates through the weekly club announcements sent over email. Also check the group Facebook page for updates. Everyone is welcome to show up at our trainings - they're free!

Striders Walkers

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday: Join your walking leads, Lee and Virginia, for a great workout in conjunction with our regular Westside Track Tuesdays, Matt's Mystery Run (Wednesdays), Chad & Hans Hills (Thursday), and Azita & Bert's Long Run (Saturday). Walkers and runners gather together for a group start to both the walking and running workouts. Contact Lee Greb or Virginia Moherek for more information.


Inner Loop: Track Tuesday in the Heights followed by ab/core/strength. Rain or shine. Start time is 6:25 pm at Heights High School (413 E. 13th Street, Houston 77008) rain or shine. Contact Bob Schamus for more information.

West Side: Jack Daniels track session at Memorial Middle School (12550 Vindon Drive, Houston 77024). Start time is 6:30 pm sharp. Contact Miriam Kitchen for more information.


Inner Loop / West Side (morning): 3M (Mid-Week Mileage Morning) Run, led by Kelly Ramey. Arrive at 8 am to start running by 8:10. Workouts have alternating locations of Mile Marker 0 of the Semour Lieberman Running Loop at Memorial Park (near the tennis center) and Terry Hershey at Memorial and Memorial Mews.  Contact Kelly Ramey for more information. 

Inner Loop: Matt’s Mystery Run, coached by Matt Wright. Start time is 7:00 pm. The “mystery” lies in the distance and route taken that particular day, but figure on 3-5 miles in this no-drop run. Meet in front of the United Way at Feagan and Waugh. Contact Chris Cornell for more information.


Inner Loop: Hills workout at 6:30 pm. Meet in front of the United Way at Feagan and Waugh for Houston-style hills and fun! Good for beginner and experienced runners. This is your weekly dose of endurance training to build strength and improve both running form and mental fitness. Contact Hans Wong for more information.

West Side: The Westside Thursday Training will consist of Boot Camp beginning Thursday, July 19, at 6:30 pm at the Memorial Mews lot in Terry Hershey Park (located approximately 1/4 mile west of the Memorial/Eldridge Parkway intersection and across from the main park entrance. The full-body workout will consist of 4 sets of strength and 5 sets of intervals and is open to all, as it can be modified based on fitness and ability. Bring a towel or yoga mat, plus 1 or 2 sets of dumbbells for the upper and lower body if you have them. Contact Miriam Kitchen for more information.


Open Long Run: Meet at the swimming pool parking lot at Memorial Park. Start time is 6:00 am. Email Garrett Rychlik if you intend to run. Garrett's group generally runs in the 7-8 min/mile pace range, target distance varies but generally 10-14 miles.

Alternate Open Long Run: Slower-paced run from the swimming pool parking lot at Memorial Park. Start time is 6:30 am. Contact Azita Erfani if interested in running. Group generally runs in the 9-10 min/mile pace range, with a target distance of generally 8-12 miles.
